De blanco e indía, mestizo / De español con negra, mulato / De indio con negra, zambo / De mulata con blanco, morisco. The list goes on. Back in the days when Argentina was a Spanish colony (as in many other regions),

CASTAS is an evolving series of artworks inspired by portraits of people with mixed origins. It serves as a catalyst for opening dialogues about decolonization, identities, and counter-hegemonic narratives. It provides an opportunity to reexamine and deconstruct the supposed "natural" ways of doing and thinking.
